Twin Wire Wave Probe – 900 mm
Wave probe operate by measuring the current that flows between two stainless steel wires that are immersed in water. This current is converted to an output voltage that is directly proportional to the immersed depth.
Each wave probe comprises two parallel stainless steel rods with a plastic head and foot. The head is fixed to the calibration stem and a mounting block is supplied that allows the calibration stem to be fixed to any vertical surface.

The digital point gauge measures steady state water levels on physical models. Conventionally this is done by using a small point or hook which is manually adjusted to touch the water surface and then a reading is taken using a scale or vernier. Our digital point gauge works in the same way but has a battery operated LCD display that makes it extremely easy to read. A quick release device allows fast positioning of the point to the water surface, and the final fine adjustment is made with a screw thread. The display reads directly in millimetres and can be set to zero at any position to allow relative measurements to be easily made.

Our wave gauge system is suitable for use in:
2D flume
For this configuration, the wave probes are supplied with a mounting block allowing the calibration stem, that is fixed to the wave probe head, to be attached to any vertical surface.3D wave basin
For basins, we have a selection of tripods for using 600 to 1200 mm wave probes. For shallow water up to 1 m depth, a smaller stand to fit 300 mm wave probes is available.Product features:

The wave probes operate by measuring the current that flows between the two rods immersed in water. This current is converted to an output voltage that is directly proportional to the immersed depth. The standard probe lengths are 300, 600 and 900 mm.
Wave probe case
A wave probe case is supplied to accommodate up to eight monitors. This case contains all the necessary signal conditioning, together with an inbuilt analogue-to-digital output that allows the data to be saved directly to a data acquisition PC.
The case is supplied with its own standard plug and power supply for the modules.
If you need to use more than eight probes at the same time, then multiple cases can be linked together so requiring only one computer for configuration.
HR DAQ software
Our wave gauge system can be connected to a computer to collect data. This data can also be analysed using HR DAQ for analysis +/- 10V dc analogue output available for use with other data acquisition systems.
