Compact Steam Turbine Power Plant 0.5 kW
The unit is designed to simulate modern steam power plant. Main components consist of a feed water system, a small industrial boiler, a steam turbine, a generator and lamp load, a condenser with a condensate tank and a pump, and a cooling tower. Accessories such as fuel tank, fuel flow meter, feed water meter, and a stack are also included. Instruments are provided for measurement of pressures, temperatures, output voltage and currents.
Instruction manual is also included.

Mini Gas Turbine Power Plant
The unit is an educational two-shaft gas turbine power plant with a radial flow compressor and axial flow turbines, gear box, generator, and electrical loads as in the modern gas turbine power plant.
The first stage is a hot gas generator. Inlet air through an orifice flow measuring device is compressed by a single stage radial flow compressor. The turbine is motor started and runs on Jet A fuel. Fuel is injected by a fuel pump and ignited in the combustion chamber providing hot gas for a single stage axial flow turbine which in turn drives the compressor. The hot gas is discharged axially to a larger power turbine on the second shaft and exhausts to atmosphere. A fan is provided for cooling the gear box.
The power turbine output shaft is connected to the gear box. An alternator is connected to the gear box by a direct coupling. the electrical output is converted by an inverter to 220 VDC and the electrical power output is connected to a lamp load.
An Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls the basic turbine operation. Additional instruments are provided for monitoring and controlling the plant operation and performance.
A touch screen computer with an interface unit and software are provided for speed and load control, data display and analysis, and to assist the ECU.
Safety features include clear acrylic cover, gas generator over speed shutdown, power turbine over speed protection and power turbine entry over temperature shut down. The unit is floor standing with removable supports.

Mini Steam Turbine Power Plant
Mini Steam Turbine Power Plant is designed as a miniature modern day power plant for educational purpose.
A pump supplies water from a feed tank to a small gas fired boiler. The saturated steam can be superheated by an electric superheater (optional). The steam is throttled to single stage turbine. Exhaust from the turbine is condensed in a water cooled condenser. Condensate is collected in a graduated beaker and returned to feed water tank by a pump. A small DC generator is connected to the turbine by a belt, and electrical load is applied. A mechanical dynamometer is provided for measurement of turbine mechanical output. The unit requires outside water supply.
Instruments are provided for monitoring and controlling of plant operation and performance as well as for safety. The unit is on a steel frame with adjustable footings.
