Water Hammer Apparatus
This apparatus is used to study the effects of both pipe surge and water hammer using two separate straight pipes with a constant head tank.
Pipe surge employs a clear acrylic surge shaft to demonstrate gradual velocity change, hence pressure rise and its oscillations by slow valve closing. Water hammer employs a quick closing valve and two pressure sensors-one next to the valve and another further away. Sudden rise in pressure on quick closing valve can be demonstrated on a computer (separately supplied). The equipment is to be used with Hydraulics Bench (separately supplied).
Instruction manual is also included.

This equipment measures pressure drop when water flows through a vertical pipe at various flow rates both laminar and turbulent. It is to be used with Hydraulics Bench i.e. HB100 or HB100N (separately supplied).
It consists of adjustable constant head water source of removable clear acrylic cylinder for laminar flow. Turbulent flow may be achieved by directly connecting the pipe to the Hydraulics Bench water supply. A water manometer with a vent valve, a hand air pump and a differential pressure gauge are provided for measurement of pressure drop. A valve at the outlet is used to control outlet pressure.

Fundamental Hydraulic Studies and AccessoriesDead Weight Pressure Tester
The tester is designed to calibrate pressure gauge.
It consists of a precision machined stainless steel piston and cylinder with calibrated weights. The weights are applied on the upper end of the piston rod to generate pressure. The assembly is mounted on adjusting screws with a bull’s eye level. The pressure gauge is connected to the cylinder, thus subject to known pressure and comparison with the gauge reading can be made. Leaking liquid from the cylinder is returned to a reservoir. The cylinder can be simply refilled with liquid from the reservoir without removing the piston.
