Description

This equipment allows comparison of experimental and theoretical deflections and reactions of a rectangular portal and an “S” frame when loads are applied. It is to be used with ST300 Universal Structural Frame (separately supplied).

The frame is made of steel bar with a fixed leg while the other leg can be moved horizontally. Loads are applied vertically and/or horizontally. Moment at the frame fixed leg is measured by a moment support and a horizontal force on the frame free leg is measured by a horizontal force support. Deflection of the frame is measured by a dial indicator.

Instruction manual is also included.

TYPICAL EXPERIMENTS
  • Horizontal reaction and fixing moment due to a varying single point load
  • Comparison of behavior to simplified theory
