Equilibrium of a Rigid Body

Equilibrium of a Rigid Body apparatus studies ground and wall reactions as a weight moves up a rigid ladder. For use with ST300 Universal Structural Frame.

Description

Equilibrium of a Rigid Body. This equipment is used for studying the ground and wall reactions as a weight is moved up a rigid ladder. It is to be used with ST300 Universal Structural Frame (separately supplied).

A ladder with rollers at each end leans against a wall. Reactions at both ends of the ladder are measured by nylon cords tensioned by weights. A sliding weight can be clamped at any position on the ladder and the ladder is prevented from falling by a stirrup at the top.

Instruction manual is also included.

TYPICAL EXPERIMENTS
  • Determine ground and wall reactions as a body moves up a ladder.
  • Experimental verification of calculations using the three conditions of equilibrium
