Torsion and Bending
The apparatus is used for torsion and bending tests on different materials. It is to be used with ST305 Universal Base Frame or ST300 Universal Structural Frame (separately supplied)
The apparatus consists of two columns attached to the base frame. One column has a top support for bending specimen, and a clamp for torsion specimen. The other column also has a top support for bending specimen with a pulley freely rotates in the column.
For bending test, the specimen is placed on or clamped to the supports on top of the columns. Load is applied to the specimen and deflection is measured by a dial gauge.
For torsion test, one end of the specimen is clamped to the column, and the other end is clamped to the pulley. A lever arm is attached to the specimen at any length from the first column. Angle of twist is measured by a dial gauge for the lever movement. Torque is measured by the load and the pulley diameter.

Torsion of Rods and Tubes
The equipment is used for the investigation of torsion and torsional rigidity in rods, and tubes. It is to be used with ST305 Universal Base Frame or ST300 Universal Structural Frame (separately supplied).
The apparatus has two columns attached to the base frame. One end of the specimen is clamped to one of the column. A lever can be clamped to the specimen at the test length from the first column for measurement of the angle of twist. A pulley for load hanging can be freely rotated in the second column. The other end of the specimen is clamped to the pulley.
Measurement of angle of twist is by a dial indicator on the arm, and of torque is by the load and pulley diameter.

Two Hinged Parabolic Arch, Fixed End
This equipment is used for measurement of horizontal thrust and end fixing moments of the abutment for comparison with model analysis and simplified theory. It is to be used with ST300 Universal Structural Frame (separately supplied).
A parabolic arch has one end pivoted on a moment support and fitted with an arm for applying and measuring moments and rotations. The other end is pivoted in ball bearings on a horizontal force support. Load hangers and weights are attached to the arch. Load hangers are used for measurement of horizontal thrust and fixing moment.

Two-Hinged Parabolic Arch
The equipment allows direct measurement of the horizontal component of the abutment thrust of a two hinged parabolic arch by using a simple model. It is to be used with ST300 Universal Structural Frame (separately supplied).
A parabolic arch of uniform cross-section has one end of the arch on a fixed hinged pin and the other is on bearings on a horizontal force support.
The horizontal movement of the roller end is monitored by a dial indicator. Measurement of horizontal thrust by the roller end is by using a pulley and a load hanger.

Universal Base Frame
This is a bench top base frame made from 30 x 30 mm aluminum profile with stainless steel support and adjustable footings. The base is a twin member on which optional structural models and accessories are attached. This frame is more economical than ST300 Universal Structural Frame, and is intended to replace ST300 for many experiments in structural mechanics where underhung and side hung are not required.

Universal Test Frame: 300kN
The universal test frame is used for studying loading experiments on steel work or civil engineering structure such as girder, beam, truss etc. where actual 1:1 loading can be made. The structure is to be provided by the user.
It consists of twin frame with intermediate space to permit structure longer than the frame opening to be tested. The frame is made of channels joined together by high strength bolts. Two cross bearers under the columns support the frame and rest on four anti vibration leveling feet. The frame is to be assembled at site.
Loading is by hydraulic jacks on traveling carriages. Accessories for loading, attachment of dial gauges, and stabilization of the experiment plane frame are provided.

Unsymmetrical Cantilever
The apparatus is used for studying a cantilever deflection and determining shear center when the plane of loading does not co-inside with the axis of symmetry of the cross section. It is to be used with ST305 Universal Base Frame or ST300 Universal Structural Frame (separately supplied).
The cantilever under test is mounted horizontally on a support column at one end. The mounted end can be rotated to indicate its position relative to a fixed angular scale. Load is applied through a weight hanger and weights at the free end. A circular disc is attached to the free end and vertical and horizontal displacements may be measured by two dial indicators. The pin where weight hanger is hung can be moved laterally on the circular disc across and outside the section of the cantilever to determine shear center.

Virtual Work
The equipment is used for applying the principle of virtual work to the derivation of redundant reactions. It is to be used with ST300 Universal Structural Frame (separately supplied).
An elastic beam is supported at both ends by one moment support and one built-in / knife edge support. Moment support permit the application and measurement of moment and rotation. A vertical force support, is used for the case of two span continuous beam. A clamp on moment application device with a mean to counter balance the device weight is provided to apply a pure moment and measure rotation. The beam is loaded by weights. The deflection and slope of the beam can be measured by dial indicators.
